TOURISM AND CULTURE – BRIDGE OF MUNICIPAL CONNECTION

For the construction of the Amphitheater in Bobov Dol and adaptation of Memorial park Bubanj on Palilula – reconstruction of amphitheater and adaptation of park surface within the programme of cross-border cooperation Bulgaria Serbia, EU granted partner municipalities with 577,561,00 E. The value of the project, that was realized by Palilula Municipality, is 179,162,00E. Project was successfully realized and gave good impulse to the establishment of cooperation in cross-border region. Thanks to the project Coul Tour - Establishing cooperation in the sphere of cultural tourism and Bobov Dol and Palilula municipalities, realized within the IPA programme of cross-border cooperation Bulgaria-Serbia, the Amphitheater in Bobov Dol and Memorial park Bubanj –the Amphitheater and space around the monument in Palilula after the reconstruction got their new looks.

This project that was implemented by Bobov Dol and Palilula-Nis Municipalities and had for its objective promotion and development of cultural tourism in cross-border region over the improvement and modernization of infrastructure connected with cultural and historical heritage of these two municipalities. As specific objectives of the project beside amphitheater construction in Bobov Dol and reconstruction of the existing one in Palilula, we created the Guide for cultural and historical monuments of both municipalities and gave impulse to cultural exchange and improvement of consciousness on culture and tradition of both municipalities as well as cross-border region.

Within the project that lasted for 21 months in Memorial Park Bubanj it was worked on cleaning and cutting of plants and trees on the surface of 50,000 square meters emphasized Milos Stojiljkovic, project manager. The waste was collected and removed, pedestrian paths were adapted and repaired, 15 resting places were constructed, memorial place repaired and plateau around was constructed, the repairing of Amphitheater was completed wooden seats over concrete armature were put. 30 benches in park were also placed, the fountain renewed, two new plateaus were constructed, middle plateau was cleaned of soil and plants, the greens were arranged and refreshed around Amphitheater and plateau.

With adaptation of Buvanj Memorial park and promotion of our activities over media, the public consciousness of the needs for keeping cultural –historical monuments in our space was raised-emphasized Dzunic. Financial support of 172,162 E provided the improvement of cultural –business cooperation between Bobov Dol in Bulgaria and Palilula in Serbia municipalities. With these activities, due to the estimation of project team, the citizens consciousness on keeping life surrounding and memorial park Bubanj, as the biggest park surface south from Belgrade, was raised.
